Memories

Penelope.jpgPenelope

“Even though she was still a playful puppy, Penelope was one of the sweetest dogs I have ever met.  Every time I would take her out of her crate, she would wrap her paws around my neck and always brighten my day!  I miss my Penelope hugs!”     - Christine

“I loved walking in and surprising Pugsley every day.  Since he was deaf he could never hear me come in the door, so when I went over and gave him a pet on the head to wake him, he would always get excited and flip over for belly rub.  One day I forgot to rub his belly and he wouldn’t get off the couch!”     - Christine

Mae

“I will always remember Mae for the sweet, gentle lady she was.  She enjoyed the company of other dogs but her first real love was sniffing.  She was a sniffaholic.  She loved her walks as a result.   And no dog sat, patiently waited and gently took her treat better than Mae.  She was above all else, a lady.”     -Jeff

Nakita

“Nakita Bonita. That’s what I called her.  Beautiful Nakita.  A sweet soul of a dog, sadly taken too soon.  I remember being delighted to learn of Nakita’s love for fetch on our solo weekend walks, seeing as she was shy around other dogs.  I always made time and lost track of time, during those visits to Nakita’s, throwing ”just one more”.  The last time I was with Nakita it was a very cold, rainy Saturday in early March; both of us soaked to the bone at the end of our walk.  I took out my camera and despite the downpour, I captured this picture of Nakita.  Her eyes tell the story.  Who says a dog lacks a soul?  I don’t.  Nakita Bonita.  Beautiful Nakita.”     -Kraig

Whiskey

“Whisky or ‘the Hisk’ as he was known was one of my first clients.  The first time I walked Whisky I got the wrong door and asked if they had Whisky.  That was the beginning of our relationship.  He was quite a rambunctious pup.  One day I walked in to his apartment and he tore the bookshelves down and there were books all over the place. It was mayhem.  The other memory that Paul and I have together is we were walking our dogs to the park over by North Avenue.  We let them play together and it was a very hot day.  Whisky took off towards the lake.  Paul took off after him and finally caught up with him at the beach where he was swimming with all the kids.  Paul comes back with him and said “He was hot and wanted to swim with all the kids”. J  He brought us all very good memories.”       - Pam
